Playing our Part in Norristown’s Revitalization Efforts Our renovated office located at 101 West Airy Street, Suite 100
March 9, 2019 marked our second anniversary since we moved back to Norristown, PA. I am happy to report that being in Norristown has exceeded our expectations. The sound of construction surrounds us. The trees are beginning to blossom on Airy Street, and our office manager Charlene and her husband Tom are getting ready to do our spring plantings which will certainly brighten up our corner of Airy and Cherry Streets.
The number of schoolchildren we see get on the bus every morning, and watching people walking to work gives us great hope. The residential construction occurring on Sandy Hill Road, the addition of the Wawa on Main Street along with several commercial buildings being rehabbed on Main Street all confirm the hope. A vibrant and growing Chamber of Commerce, the State Hospital area development project and Norristown’s work to create a community center at the location of the PAL building all show we are moving in the right direction.
Positive Changes Coming in Norristown, PA
With the renovation of One Montgomery Plaza, the County has begun the much-needed rehabilitation of the Court House area. The work will consolidate most of the County employees into one place and will provide additional momentum moving forward. The state hospital area, that has long remained vacant, is the subject of a revitalization plan that promises a successful springboard to other revitalization efforts.
A Little History on the Planned Revitalization of Norristown
I am looking at an old promotional magazine in our office dated Fall of 1987. The magazine was dedicated to the “Revitalization of Norristown.” Not only was Norristown not revitalized during that time, looking through the 20/20 vision of hindsight, we all know that Norristown continued to regress, and things got progressively worse. Norristown’s revitalization never materialized, culminating in our decision to move out of Norristown for the sterile office buildings of West Conshohocken and then Blue Bell.
The good news is that we’re back! What had been discussed and touted over 30 years ago, the Revitalization of Norristown, finally seems to be gathering speed and becoming a reality. Two years ago, we purchased the building at 101 West Airy Street and committed to playing our part in Norristown’s revitalization. We renovated the building inside and out. Today our office houses the lawyers and staff that allow us to serve the needs of our clients.
Norristown: It’s Your Time to Shine!
Is it finally Norristown’s time to shine? Things seem to be moving in the right direction, and we remain optimistic that it’s for real. We can confidently say that everyone at the Sherr Law Group will continue to do our part.
As we grow, we are looking to hire people from the Norristown area, creating jobs in our home city. We continue to work with Municipal staff including the Manager and the Police Department to do what Sherr Law Group, Norristown municipal law attorney can to help.
